Trim up of features
ADDED: intelligence settings will affect display of generals (no more playing favorites guys)
ADDED: 'Auto Score' ... when you select a score, the inverse score is automatically selected on the other video, so less clicking! For example, if you want to be a soldier now just click 10, the other automatically becomes a 1, and hit fight. This is the same as it has always been it just looks different now. You can still choose any score you like, we just thought we'd help out with less work for yall that like this.
ADDED: a sleeker database structure on the backside, so we can grow and maybe even be faster too.
REMOVED: Complicated, unused features like protocols and even diplomacy... all wars can now be scored with one system. Features like diplomacy are still in effect, but they are inferred automatically, depending on how you rate media. For example, if you choose 10 and 1, you are a soldier.
Let us know what you think (is that mean since we have no website feedback part yet?!?)
email bug
Emails should be sent out again. Apologies if you get a barrage of them as the system tries to 'catch up' on all the mail it has not been sending. thanks for looking out
User Level Fixed
We noticed your user levels are a little off...don't worry, we fixed it. Your user level will reset once a war you are involved in is over.
General Interference Fixed
We fixed the bug where if you had General interference NOT allowed, it wouldn't allow anyone to fight.
Thanks!
More Changes (POINTS!)
All points are equal now, meaning, you will win the same amount as you can lose.
Also, there is no 'default' point amount for beign a general now, it's all up to yall in your war chest. You can now set the war chest to 0 to just play for fun.
As always, please let us know any bugs or problems you have!
Be expecting a survey in your email from us, with a small incentive to actually take it, if you'd like.
Thanks!!!
Happy St. Patty's Day
Do you know the history behind it?
HOLY CRAP BATMAN
Ok details:
- Open Attacks - Anyone can declare a war, that can then be defended by anyone...including visitors to Media Wars (people without accounts).
- Battlefield - So you might have noticed that, regarding the above, the WarRoom is now the place for these 'open' attacks. The WarRoom as you once knew still exists 100% the same, it's just been renamed to The Battlefield.
- Diplomacy / Border Control - We revamped the Diplomacy system, allowing you to select independent modes of interaction for Registered players vs. unregistered visitors.
- YouTube Integration + Preview - One of the most usable new features is the ability to search YouTube (and google video, apparently) straight from the declare war page. Hopefully this helps you make wars faster, without the need to have two windows open and copy / paste codes to and fro. Don't worry though, that functionality is still all there (complete with automatic preview) for those of you who still want to use other sites found in our deployment list.
- Nerd stuff - Our database, and all our internal functions have been pretty much completely rewritten...this will hopefully speed up the site a bit in some areas and also allow us to diagnose problems easier...but problems? Who ever has those?!?
- Migration glitches - Apologies for the loss of avatars for a few hours...they are back now. The message system has been re-written as well, so I think any current messages might not be immediately visible. No worry though, all your messages are still there and it will just take some time as we convert old messages to work with the new system.
*sigh*...so are the woes and joys of beta software!!! We can't thank each and every one of you enough for making this site what it is... I've found such great media and many times laughed my ass off by the unending well of creativity I see displayed in such a crazy way.
If there are any problems, I trust that yall know what to do...I'm thinking we need a community forum cause it's the input from yall that really keeps this thing fresh.

Back in Business (BIB)
That wasn't so bad...
New features include 'Protocols' which determines how the final score is calculated, based on the number of soldiers vs. diplomats.
The other new feature is 'border control' which decides how guests can interact with your war.
You can read more here.
Now I'm straight JONESIN' for some WARSIN'!!!
New Features + Downtime
Howdy Mediawarriors! The site will be going down within the next 24 hours for a short maintenance and upgrade. We have given more options for negotiations and final score calculation. Also you will have the 'allow foreign arms' option to allow guests to fight, not only negotiate. Also, coming soon will be a much more serious overhaul. If you have any suggestions, you know how to reach us. A big holler to all warriors and a huge thanks for making this THE most entertaining site on the WHOLE DAMN WWW!!!
Happy Birthday Rod
Happy Birthday to Rod Stewart! Let's get some media up!
