Declare War!
27 February 2010

HOLY CRAP BATMAN

Ok details:

- Open Attacks - Anyone can declare a war, that can then be defended by anyone...including visitors to Media Wars (people without accounts).

- Battlefield - So you might have noticed that, regarding the above, the WarRoom is now the place for these 'open' attacks. The WarRoom as you once knew still exists 100% the same, it's just been renamed to The Battlefield.

- Diplomacy / Border Control - We revamped the Diplomacy system, allowing you to select independent modes of interaction for Registered players vs. unregistered visitors.

- YouTube Integration + Preview - One of the most usable new features is the ability to search YouTube (and google video, apparently) straight from the declare war page. Hopefully this helps you make wars faster, without the need to have two windows open and copy / paste codes to and fro. Don't worry though, that functionality is still all there (complete with automatic preview) for those of you who still want to use other sites found in our deployment list. - Nerd stuff - Our database, and all our internal functions have been pretty much completely rewritten...this will hopefully speed up the site a bit in some areas and also allow us to diagnose problems easier...but problems? Who ever has those?!?

- Migration glitches - Apologies for the loss of avatars for a few hours...they are back now. The message system has been re-written as well, so I think any current messages might not be immediately visible. No worry though, all your messages are still there and it will just take some time as we convert old messages to work with the new system.

*sigh*...so are the woes and joys of beta software!!! We can't thank each and every one of you enough for making this site what it is... I've found such great media and many times laughed my ass off by the unending well of creativity I see displayed in such a crazy way.

If there are any problems, I trust that yall know what to do...I'm thinking we need a community forum cause it's the input from yall that really keeps this thing fresh.

Back in Business (BIB)

That wasn't so bad...
New features include 'Protocols' which determines how the final score is calculated, based on the number of soldiers vs. diplomats.
The other new feature is 'border control' which decides how guests can interact with your war.
You can read more here.

Now I'm straight JONESIN' for some WARSIN'!!!

New Features + Downtime

Howdy Mediawarriors! The site will be going down within the next 24 hours for a short maintenance and upgrade. We have given more options for negotiations and final score calculation. Also you will have the 'allow foreign arms' option to allow guests to fight, not only negotiate. Also, coming soon will be a much more serious overhaul. If you have any suggestions, you know how to reach us. A big holler to all warriors and a huge thanks for making this THE most entertaining site on the WHOLE DAMN WWW!!!

New Functionality...new support

So, amongst other things, we've added a feature called 'Diplomacy'. Diplomacy let's you rate wars without risking as many points. You can still fight wars, but fighting has been stripped to choosing one side and giving the strongest rating. Chew on that for just a little bit. We've also expanded the media sites we support tenfold...check your preferences to enable/disable adult content. -MW HERALD
