How To Play

Media Wars pits players against each other in head-to-head media wars. Players can negotiate media wars, fight media wars, declare media wars, and bid on media wars.

1. Declaring Media Wars (Attacker)

If a player declares a media war as an attacker and wins, that player wins the points in the War Chest, WAR_CHEST_PTS points by default. If a player declares a media war as an attacker and loses, that player loses the points in the War Chest, WAR_CHEST_PTS points by default.

2. Declaring Media Wars (Defender)

If a player declares a media war as a defender and wins, that player wins the points in the War Chest, WAR_CHEST_PTS points by default. If a player declares a media war as a defender and loses, that player loses the points in the War Chest, WAR_CHEST_PTS points by default.

3. Declaring Media Wars (Open Challenge)

Generals cannot win or lose points in wars that are Open Challenges.

4. Negotiating Media Wars

Players who negotiate media wars are referred to as Diplomats. If a player negotiates, that player neither wins nor loses points.

5. Fighting Media Wars

Players who fight media wars are referred to as Soldiers. If a player fights for the media that wins the media war, that player wins SOLDIER_WIN_PTS points. If a player fights for the media that loses the media war, that player loses SOLDIER_LOSE_PTS points.

If a player wins a bid, that player wins as many points as the player bid. If a player loses a bid, that player loses as many points as the player bid.
